Japanese painter and printmaker active from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, and he was part of shin-hanga ("new prints") movement.
He is known for his mastery of kachō-e (bird-and-flower) designs. He produced around 500 prints and used three different names. He was known as 'Ohara Hōson ', 'Ohara Shōson' and 'Ohara Kōson'.
